I bought one of your books in Paris on a trip when I was engaged at 24. This was hilarious because I had never cooked anything at this point and was getting a cookbook by an Irishwoman writing in French. Well I had twins soon after this so the book was only taken down about 15 years later and now I use it!( I have about 350 cookbooks, I love to read them in bed!)
I cook the Navarin and the Salad Nicoise and the pot a feu. I’ve tried most of them but they are ones I do the most. It’s Trish’s French Kitchen. The twins are delightful they are 17 now but the Husband was less so , so I jettisoned him!
I am one of those readers who bought the book 25 years ago! I have the French version as I'm French (now married to a Brit and living in London, a bit of a reverse situation of yours!). Love it and am still using it. I used the "elegant diner" recipes for the first meal I cooked for my husband when we started dating. I used many recipes for my traditional New Year's brunch when my friends would come to my flat. And I brought up my daughter baking the fondant au chocolat which is always a top winner! Thank you for creating this book and I can't wait to see the 25th anniversary edition.
Stéphanie thank you so much! I might ask for your insight as we make the new version, if that's ok? I think the dîner plus chic, and dîner dans la cuisine sections might now be merged into one in our modern times.
That’s great news Trish. I’ve been a fan of yours for many years since your TV shows were shown in Australia, I have all your English editions. Can’t wait to be part of your new venture.
I have been learning French for sometime & am about to move to a small village outside St Emillion for 4 months to enjoy the French village life.
Thank you Helen! That's fantastic, I'd love to hear your ideas for making PPEA's baby sis. How exciting, your move. Are you inspired by Mimi T? Her house is still for sale, I believe.
I'm very glad you wrote about all this on Instagram where, with all its faults, I so enjoy keeping up with your beautiful work, your renovation stories, all of it. I got a copy of your first book when it was published here in the USA, still have my original and the many books you authored since. A sign posted at a Clonakilty Farm Market led me to a live interview with you in July 2017- meeting you and hearing your point of view in person was a treat. Gotta add my name to your subscriber list! Best to you, Linny (Linsywolsy)
Hello Trish how interesting to find out Petits plats entre amis was your first book. It is actually the first book I bought from you but also the very first cooking book I ever bought ! I was at the time a young woman just moving in with my (now ex-) future husband and used it all the time. Still today, the fondant au chocolat, the tomates confites, and the velouté aux girolles is part of my « go to » recipes 🥰
Would be so great to see a new version of this book in 2025 !

Emmanuelle thank you! This is so heart warming to read, (though I'm sorry about the husband) and I must consult you for the next one.
No bad feelings about this it’s an old story and my new partner likes cooking much more,
So now we read and buy cooking
books together 😊
With pleasure if I can contribute to the new one , count me in 👍
So great you are back here Trish - we have missed you. Happy 2025 xx
Thanks Mark! Going to stick around this time. Happy New Year to you, too. I’ve been enjoying your posts & podcasts so much. XX
