I'm an Irish cookbook author and food writer, born in Belfast and raised in the Co. Antrim countryside. For thirty five years I've lived in France, at first working in fashion and tourism and raising four children. Then, just as I founded my first small business in 2000, I accidentally started writing cookbooks, and since then have continued writing about food, mostly in French, for the French.
I've now published over thirty, multi award-winning (the latest award, in 2020, was Le Grand Prix Eugénie Brazier for My Comfort Food), widely translated books in English and French, presented five cookery TV series for the BBC and RTÉ , and in 2009 I was listed as one of French Vogue and GQ’s40 Women of the decade. I've written about food, travel and restaurants for ELLE and ELLE à Table, Régal, France Magazine, Wallpaper Guides, The Guardian, The Observer Food Monthly, Libération, The Sunday Times, The Gloss, Ireland and The Irish Times.
These days, home is in Poitou Charentes, but soon I’m moving back to Normandy to renovate a small farm in the beautiful Perche region.
My latest book, “Un Déjeuner à la Campagne” has just been published with Hachette France.
